Aldrine Kibet, who landed in Nairobi on Tuesday, netted Rising Stars' goal during their 1-1 draw with Kenya Police in a friendly match on Tuesday as the side prepares to jet out to Egypt for the U-20 AFCON.
Kenya U20 head coach Salim Babu has voiced his satisfaction with his side’s progress as they gear up for the upcoming U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), following a spirited 1-1 draw in a friendly match against Kenya Police FC on Wednesday morning at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
The Rising Stars are fine-tuning their preparations ahead of the continental tournament, which kicks off on Sunday, 27 April in Egypt. Kenya have been drawn into a challenging Group C alongside reigning champions Senegal, Zambia, and Sierra Leone, with their campaign set to begin against the latter on Thursday, 1 May.
Wednesday’s friendly offered a valuable test, with both sides putting on a competitive display. The first half saw the junior side create several promising openings, but they were initially unable to convert their chances.
