Al Ahly striker's relationship with coach Marcel Koller reportedly strained, raising concerns over his performance.

The relationship between Al Ahly and South Africa striker Percy Tau is reportedly at a dead end, according to former Ahly star Ahmed Abou Moslem.

Tau, who has made 28 appearances for the Egyptian giants this season, has struggled to find form, scoring just seven goals, with only one since his return from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Abou Moslem expressed concerns over Tau's performance since returning from the South African national team's camp, suggesting that his absence might have been due to a fallout with Al Ahly manager Marcel Koller.

"Percy Tau has not performed as expected with Al Ahly since his return from the South African national team's camp for the last African Nations Championship, and there is a state of tension between him and the Swiss coach Marcel Kohler, the team's coach, and the relationship between them has reached a dead end," Abou Moslem stated after Al Ahly's 2-1 win over Baladiyat El Mahalla as per KickOff.

Despite Al Ahly's recent successes, including winning four of their past five league matches, Abou Moslem believes that the team is not where they need to be heading into the CAF Champions League final against Esperance Sportive de Tunis on May 18.

"Al Ahly achieved an important victory before the CAF Champions League final match against Esperance of Tunisia next week, but the level is not reassuring before the next Esperance match, and there are many players who were out of service, led by right-back Mohamed Hani," he added.

Tau's future with Al Ahly remains uncertain with his performance and relationship with the manager under scrutiny.

The striker will be looking to prove his worth in the upcoming CAF Champions League final and potentially mend his relationship with the club's coaching staff.
