Zambian rising star Muzala Samukonga has turned spiritual after displaying a great show at the All-Comers Meet in Zambia to qualify for the Olympics despite injury woes.

Zambian athletics ace Muzala Samukonga has turned spiritual after clocking a world-leading time of 44.85 seconds to qualify for the Olympic Games in Paris, France later this year.

Samukonga oozed class as he destroyed a strong field to clinch the top honours at the All-Comers Meet held at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on Saturday night.

He expressed his gratitude to God after the dominant display in a post on his X (Twitter) handle, a message that caught the eyes of many.

“World Lead. All what I can say is thank you Heavenly Father for everything I’m forever grateful and thankful. What a great comeback from above Luke 1:37: for with God nothing is impossible,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Zambian has suffered a bout of injuries in the past few years, forcing him to withdraw from many races.

The Commonwealth Games 400m champion was forced to withdraw from the 2023 Diamond League Meeting leg in Silesia, Poland due to a hamstring injury. He was also unable to compete at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary due to the same.

He has been a beacon of hope in Zambia and his comeback promises to pose an exciting match-up at the upcoming Olympics where he will face off against some of the greatest runners in the world.
