Jamaican sprint icon Usain Bolt has dismissed claims of racing airplanes in Jamaica as he reveals the weirdest story he has heard about himself.

Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt has put to rest a peculiar rumor about his training method of racing airplanes on airstrips in Jamaica.

The eight-time Olympic gold medalist addressed the claim while appearing on a recent episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, where he was confronted by British actress Joanna Lumley, who had heard the tale during a visit to Jamaica.

Lumley shared her experience, saying, “I went to Jamaica years ago for a special about Ian Fleming. We were at this little airstrip, and the pilot told us, ‘We’ve got the fastest man in the world here, Usain Bolt'."

The actress then narrated how the pilot had informed them of a tale of the world's fastest man racing airplanes as part of his training.

"'He used to train running alongside airplanes as they gathered speed and took off.’ I thought, ‘Yes! That’s amazing.’ But now, Usain’s just told me it’s not true, and my heart is broken. Why isn’t it true? Please let me believe it!”

Bolt, amused by the story, quickly dismissed the rumor, saying, “I wasn’t from that area.”

The sprinter went on to share another humorous anecdote about the wild stories people have made up about him.

"There’s this one guy I’ve met several times, and every time he sees me, he insists on taking a picture,” Bolt recounted.

“I finally asked him why, and he said, ‘I tell everyone you’re my cousin, so I need a fresh picture every time I see you to prove it.’ I thought that was kind of cool.”

Despite the false airplane rumor, Bolt’s legendary speed and charismatic personality continue to inspire admiration and fuel creative stories about his life.

While he may not have raced airplanes, his achievements on the track remain unmatched, solidifying his status as one of the greatest athletes in history.
