Oblique Seville shocked the whole world as he stormed to a personal best time in the men’s 100m at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
Oblique Seville clocked an impressive personal best time of 9.77 seconds, finishing first ahead of Kishane Thompson and Noah Lyles, who came home in second and third in respective times of 9.82 and 9.89.
Oblique Seville started his campaign with a third-place finish behind Gift Leotlela and Kayinsola Ajayi in the heats. He then went ahead to win the semifinal in 9.86 seconds ahead of Letsile Tebogo.

He added that Glen Mills assured him that his time would always come, and now, becoming a world champion after so many years of finishing outside the podium bracket is a true testimony of what kind of coach he is.

“It means a lot because Usain Bolt is considered the fastest man alive, and Glenn Mills coached him. To be under his tutelage was a dream come true for me when I was a teenager and a young kid, and knowing that I’m under his tutelage is a blessing,” Oblique Seville said after his 100m final.
“He has taught me about the sport, taught me a lot of things and led me to become the world champion. That shows his class and his coaching, and that he's one of the best coaches in the world. It's a long story. I found him because I wanted him to train me to train me. So that was it.”
Oblique Seville also pointed out that the fact that Glen Mills coached Usain Bolt, one of the greatest sprinters in the world, is proof that he is destined for greatness.

Usain Bolt is the world record holder in the 100m and 200m, times he set at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin and Oblique Seville believes he has all it takes to get to that level if he continues working with Glen Mills.
