Lindsey Courtney led a dominant U.S. performance in the men’s 200m with a season-best 20.04 victory, as Letsile Tebogo surprisingly failed to make the final.

Lindsey Courtney surged to a season-best 20.04 seconds to headline a commanding U.S. performance in the men’s 200m final at the Rabat Diamond League.

The American sprinter edged out Liberia’s Joseph Fahnbulleh and compatriot Fred Kerley, who clocked 20.12 and 20.16 seconds respectively, in a dramatic race that saw the favored Letsile Tebogo of Botswana fail to make the final.

Courtney delivered on the hype by holding off a fast-closing Fahnbulleh in the home stretch.

It was a statement of depth for the U.S., with Kerley proving ing his versatility by grabbing third with a season-best effort.

The biggest shock of the event came in the absence of Botswana's Letsile Tebogo in the final.

The 21-year-old sprint sensation, who has been among the fastest men in the world in the event in recent times and a strong favorite failed to compete after coming in last place in the 100m an hour earlier.
