She revealed that when Kelvin Kiptum was alive, they used to stay peacefully and the children never used to leave their home anyhow.

“I’ve not seen my grandkids for a year…till date, I don’t know where they are. I used to hear that they are in Kipkorkor but I don’t see them,” Mary said in an interview with Tuko.

“I even tried to ask in their school and they said it has been long since they went to school. Till today, I still wonder where Kiptum’s children are because when we used to live in Chepsamo, Kiptum’s kids never used to leave the house to go to town or anywhere, we used to just stay at home.”

She urged anyone who might have seen the children to inform her since they are the only memory of Kelvin Kiptum left behind.

Mary noted that having the grandchildren around would give them the strength to keep pushing through the tough times and know that they have something to live for.

“I’m surprised and I want to ask if anyone knows where my grandchildren are, they should bring them back. They are the ones who will give us strength,” Mary added.

“However, I have told Kiptum to ensure his children come back home and if they are somewhere else, they should not have peace. I’m wondering who has hidden my children.”

On his part, Kelvin Kiptum’s father expressed his feelings, revealing that they never chased Asenath away but she just felt the need to leave without informing them.

Samson noted that just a few weeks after Kelvin Kiptum’s burial, she had already orchestrated a plan to leave and never mentioned where she was going. He added that she is welcome back home anytime.

“I feel so hurt…when my child was just buried, Asenath stayed for just a month and I didn’t know she had a plan. Since my son was buried, I don’t know where she went with my grandchildren. We didn’t chase her away,” he said.

Kelvin Kiptum lost his life in a grisly road accident in Eldoret, Kenya. He was only 24-years-old at the time of his death.

Kiptum’s coach, Gervais Hakizimana, also died in the crash with a third person, Sharon Chepkurui Kosgei Keiyo, surviving with serious injuries.
