Hannah Mwangi from the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has set her eyes on qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics after her dominant exploits at the sixth Athletics Kenya meet held at the Kasarani Stadium.

The race was under torrential downpour currently pounding Nairobi.
Diana Chebet of National Police Service and Johnson Wanjiru of Central settled for second and third places in respective times of 1:00.67 and 1:00.87.
“Before the national trials, I’m sure I will have hit the qualifying time for the Olympics. I know I will run a good time,” Mwangi told KBC Sport.
The qualifying time for the women’s 400m hurdles currently stands at 54.85. She will have to step up her preparations if she has to make it to the big stage next year.
She lamented that the poor weather was her major undoing towards achieving her time target but promised to do better next time.
So far, Mwangi says she has focused on discipline and hard work in order to emerge the queen of the hurdles in the country.
“You have to motivate yourself to follow the training programme. Discipline is also a key virtue that you must embrace. With these two, things will just fall into place eventually,” she asserted.
