Speaking in an interview on the Welcome to the Party podcast, Gabby Thomas pointed out that she would love to try the 400m hurdles.

The former world 200m silver medallist expressed confidence in doing well over distance, insisting that her body structure was built for longer sprints.

Gabby Thomas added that she has never competed in the 400m hurdles in her entire life but had always been curious to try it out one day. She pointed out her competitive side as something that would push her to try out the 400m hurdles.

“Probably the 400m hurdles…I think I’m built for it. I’m not built like a traditional sprinter; I’m more of a 400m or 400m hurdles runner. Maybe one day…I think we can try that one. I never tried a hurdle in my entire life,” Gabby Thomas revealed.

“I just did what looked fun…the 100 and 200, and that's what everyone wants to do. And I did the long jump in college, too, but I had to give that up. I'm competitive. I think I could do a really good job. That's it. I want to try, and I want to see what I could do.”

Gabby Thomas’ curiosity and confidence suggest that while her 400m hurdles debut may not be imminent, her ambition to one day challenge Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone underscores her relentless drive to test her limits and redefine her versatility on the track.
