Olympic 200m champion Gabby Thomas has shared an inspirational message to young athletes who aspire to become future world beaters.

The American pocketed the overall US$100K top prize after accumulating 20 points at the inaugural first leg of the Michael Johnson-funded Grand Slam Track.

The event in Kingston was held between April 4-6 and it was Gabby Thomas' first competitive event of 2025. Thomas, 28, was one of the most successful Olympic stars at the Paris Olympic Games in 2024. 

"To the young girls and boys who might be watching, believe in yourself. When I was young, I had big dreams too. Dreams that often times scared because I felt like they were too far away," she said on X platform, formerly Twitter.

Thomas is a believer in dreaming big and achieving massive goals. "Your dreams, no matter how big they are, are valid. Dreaming big means going outside of your comfort zone. It means working hard even when nobody is watching and believing in yourself even when it feels hard. Remember your dreams can inspire others one day. So, Don’t hold back. be bold. be brave and dream big," she added.

At the 2024 Olympics in Paris, Thomas won three gold medals; individually in the 200m, and alongside her teammates in the 4x100m relay and 4x400 m relay, in which they ran an American record and the second-fastest time ever.

Born in Georgia and raised in Massachuettes, Thomas proved to the world that hard work and team spirit is the way to go.
