World 5000m silver medallist Beatrice Chebet on Sunday night set her Personal Best time in the 5000m as Ethiopia’s Gudaf Tsegay set a world record at the Prefontaine Classic and Chebet believes she is next in line.
Chebet finished second in 14:05.92 as Tsegay clocked 14:00.21 to completely destroy Faith Kipyegon’s world record time that stood at 14:05.20 that she set at the Diamond League Meeting in Paris.

Chebet believes that going into the next season, she might just be the one to break the world record since she believes in her ability.
“I did not expect to run such a crazy race…it was very tough. I thank God that I managed to run 14:05, which was the previous world record.
"I’m happy for Tsegay since she has broken the world record…maybe I will be the next, I don’t know. God willing, we prepare for next year in a great way and we can run well.
"Everything is possible and I know Tsegay believed she could do it and she did,” Chebet said in a post-race interview.
