"We'll gain a lot from Ruben Amorim this season" - Amad Diallo expresses confidence in his manager
Manchester United have begun their preparation for the new Premier League season, with their opening pre-season game ending in a draw.
With no European football this season, Manchester United is fully focused on a strong Premier League campaign and returning to the UEFA Champions League in 2026/27.
Amad shows confidence in Amorim
According to Abola, Amad Diallo confirmed this after the first pre-season friendly—a scoreless draw against Leeds in Stockholm—but urged fans to be patient.
"I think they have to be patient with us. There's a new manager, new players, and new tactics. We know last season wasn't very good for the team, but I think we'll gain a lot from him [Amorim] this season," he said after the match in Sweden, highlighting the main objective for this season.
"I hope we can achieve many good things by the end of the season. A good season would be a top-five finish. I hope we can be in the top five at the end of the season," he added, noting that last season's fifth-place team qualified for the Champions League due to the strong performance of English clubs in Europe. He also praised Matheus Cunha.
"We need good players and he will bring a lot to the team. I hope he can give us something different. Especially last season, we lacked good players in the final third. He scored a lot of goals last season, so I wish him all the best," he said, also touching on the arrival of Mbeumo, which isn't yet official.
"Of course, I'm looking forward to playing with him. We need good players in the team who can contribute in the final third. We're very excited to have them on the team, and I hope that together we can give the fans something at the end of the season because they deserve it," he concluded.
