His goals not only energised the team but also silenced the resilient Gabonese side, known as the Panthers, who had given Nigeria a tough challenge throughout the game.

Following the thrilling victory, Osimhen took time to praise two of his teammates for their important contributions in setting up his goals.

Benjamin Fredrick and substitute Chidozie Awaziem were the creators behind his finishes, providing the assists that made all the difference in clinching the win. 

In an interview with Nigerian journalist Calister, Osimhen emphasised the importance of teamwork and the strong mentality displayed by the squad.

“Kudos to the guys that gave me the assists to score those two goals," Osimhen said warmly. "I’m really happy about the mentality of the team, all of us.”

This unity and determination have become defining features of the Super Eagles’ recent performances.
