Nigerian heavyweight Efe Ajagba has continued to dominate the social media trends.
Ajagba made a massive statement, following a thrilling majority tie with Congolese opponent Martin Bakole at the ANB Arena in Riyadh.
According to Ajagba, British boxer Anthony Joshua is not a true son of the soil.
Joshua was recently in Nigeria for a while and went viral with his activities.
The Ring also hinted to Ajagba that Joshua might be a contender, even though both fighters have time to present their cases.
Ajagba on Anthony Joshua
The 30-year-old Ajagba, who lost to Frank Sánchez in 2021 in his lone professional match, responded to Ring Magazine by saying that AJ is not a true Nigerian as he hasn't been to Nigeria.
In a report by Sporting Life, Ajagba said, “I don’t think so. He’s not a real Nigerian.
“He might have just been there, and that’s where his parents came from, but for me, I’m the original Nigerian, to be honest.
"Not Joshua; that man has not experienced Nigeria. Almost all of his life has been spent in the UK; that’s why he hasn’t experienced it.
“He just goes there for social media content. It’s ok, it’s all good—but I’m the original Nigerian.
“In Africa, Nigeria is always No. 1 when it comes to sport, and I’m the original Nigerian. That’s what it’s all about—I’ve got power, and I’ve got skills.”
Ajagba is expected to return to action against Bakole in a rematch.
