Since I was a child - Best midfielder in LALIGA declares love for Barcelona

Girona midfielder Aleix Garcia has declared an undying love for LALIGA champions FC Barcelona.

The 26-year-old, who has been a lifelong Barcelona fan, has made his intentions to play for the LALIGA giants public. 

Garcia’s comments come at a time when Barcelona are playing catch-up to his team, Girona, in the LALIGA, and with both sides set to meet. 

Girona have been the surprise package this season after a blistering start to the new campaign has seen them join in the conversation for the league title. 

The club currently sits joint-top with 38 points from  15 matches, four points ahead of the holders.

However, both teams will go head-to-head this weekend in the game of match day 16 in LALIGA. 

Ahead of the pulsating clash, Garcia, who has played a pivotal role in Girona’s rise to the top, has seized the opportunity to make his feelings known. 

“I would love to play for Barca,” Garcia reportedly said according to the Barcelona fan page, Barca Universal. 

“It is the club that i followed since i was a child and that one i have always liked,” he added.

The declaration by the midfielder has been welcomed by Barcelona fans, who reacted by admitting that the Girona star has been the best midfielder in the LALIGA this season amidst calls for Xavi Hernandez’s side to make Garcia’s dream come true.

Garcia will have the chance to audition for the club and fans when Girona visit the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys on Sunday to take on the defending champions.

The central midfielder has scored three goals and assisted four more in 15 matches this season in LALIGA.
