Ronaldo the problem? Rival fans troll Manchester United after loss to Tottenham
Tottenham defeated Manchester United 2-0 thanks to a late own goal from Lisandro Martinez and Pape Sarr's first goal for the club.
Dejan Kulusevski's deflected cross found 20-year-old Sarr at the back post for the game's first goal four minutes into the second half, and Ben Davies' late goal gave Spurs the victory.
This was United's first defeat at the stadium and their first away loss at Spurs in six outings.
Reactions as Manchester United lose to Tottenham
Manchester United fans were not impressed with their start to the season after the loss against Tottenham.
The club has backed manager Erik Ten Hag in the summer transfer window and the fans were expecting better performances from the team despite their win against Wolves.
The defeat to Tottenham however has sparked banter on social media from rival fans.
Ronaldo and De Gea departure trends as rival fans mock Manchester United
Manchester United boss Ten Hag made the brave decision to get rid of club legend Cristiano Ronaldo last season.
There were reports that Ronaldo was becoming a problem in the dressing room after he reacted to being introduced as a late substitute.
Ronaldo recently led Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia to win the Arab Champions Cup and rival fans now use his success to mock Manchester United.
Ronaldo was not the only reference to mock Manchester United by rival fans.
Ten Hag also made the decision to get rid of long-term goalkeeper Dvaid De Gea for Andre Onana.
After Onana conceded two goals in the defeat to Tottenham, rival fans were quick to make jokes about the Cameroonian.
Ten Hag made the decision to recruit Mason Mount from Chelsea, and after his two performances against Wolves and Tottenham, rival fans have started piling up pressure on the summer signing.

de Gea was the problem…
Next…
Ten Hag can come up pressure too idc. Awful play style last year, replaced De Gea and had £200m to fix up. Decided to target Mount (who doesn’t fix anything) too. Nothing has changed, we’re still Dyche’s Burnley with £800m added into it

Think we need to get rid of Ronaldo,he's the reason we're not fluid in attack,he can't press and also De gea isn't a sweeper keeper...these two imo don't fit Ten hag's system & are holding Man United back.
