Last Friday, Nuno Espírito Santo stunned everyone by publicly admitting that his relationship with Nottingham Forest's owner has significantly changed since he took charge of the club in December 2023, failing to guarantee his future with the team, even in the short term.
The Portuguese manager stated that there are issues with Evangelos Marinakis and complained about the lack of new signings in this summer transfer window, which complicates his task of competing in both the Premier League and the UEFA Europa League.
Evangelos furious with Espirito
As expected, Marinakis was not pleased with his manager's outburst. According to Sky Sports, via Sportal, the Greek owner was reportedly "furious" with the situation, especially given the team's current form and the quality of the squad.
He expressed concern over the lack of unity and the creation of another distraction, following the controversy with Gibbs-White (who was close to joining Tottenham but renewed his contract).
Nevertheless, the same source reports that it is unlikely Nuno will be dismissed—or resign—before this Sunday's away match against Crystal Palace.
However, the club is already taking precautions and looking ahead, exploring potential replacements for after the game.
