Nigeria vs Gabon: Osimhen and 4 others yet to arrive at Super Eagles camp for crucial World Cup playoffs
With less than 48 hours to the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff clash between Nigeria and Gabon, five key Super Eagles players, including Victor Osimhen are yet to report to camp, raising mild concern among fans and officials.
The team, currently camped at the Rive Hotel in Rabat, Morocco, began full preparations on Monday evening under head coach Eric Chelle, who supervised tactical drills and light fitness sessions as the squad gears up for Thursday’s decisive encounter.
Key Players Still Missing
According to camp reports, Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, Frank Onyeka, Zaidu Sanusi, Yusuf Alhassan, and Maduka Okoye are yet to arrive. They are expected within the next 24 hours, as travel logistics and club commitments have delayed their arrival.

Meanwhile, several stars have already joined the camp, including Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Tolu Arokodare, Olakunle Olusegun, and Wilfred Ndidi.
Training intensity is expected to increase once the full squad is complete.
Nigeria faces Gabon on November 13 in Rabat, with the winner advancing to meet either Cameroon or DR Congo in the final playoff on November 16.
The ultimate winner of that tie will book a spot in the Intercontinental Playoffs scheduled for March 2026, providing one last opportunity to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
