Melissa Jefferson-Wooden Maintains Hot Streak as Sha’Carri Richardson’s Woes Continue in Poland
Melissa Jefferson-Wooden lived up to expectations as she stormed to victory in the 100m race at the Silesia Diamond League in Poland on Saturday.
Jefferson-Wooden, who is unbeaten in 100m this season, maintained that hot streak as she got off the blocks quickly and moved past her rivals with ease.
The American clocked a meeting record 10.66 seconds to win ahead of Jamaican Tia Clayton, who timed a personal best 10.82 seconds, while Africa’s fastest woman Marie-Josee Ta Lou-Smith completed the podium in a season’s best 10.87 seconds.

Richardson Still Struggling with Poor Form
Jefferson-Wooden was returning to action since her dominant performance at the US Championships two weeks ago where she reigned supreme in both 100m and 200m to clinch her ticket to the World Championships.
The race also had reigning world champion Sha’Carri Richardson, whose dramatic arrest over dramatic violence towards boyfriend Christian Coleman, has dominated headlines since the US Championships.
Richardson finished sixth in a season’s best 11.05 seconds having struggled to cope with the pace of her rivals.
The American was 0.02 seconds faster than Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith, the former world champion, who is yet to find her best form.
