Liverpool Bank Millions as Real Madrid Agree Deal for Defender Ahead of Club World Cup
Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold will join Real Madrid on Sunday, June 1st, following a surprising transfer agreement between the two clubs.
The Reds accepted a €10 million (£8.4 million) fee, allowing Alexander-Arnold to depart before his contract's expiration.
Sources indicate that Real Madrid made the single payment to ensure the England right-back's availability for the upcoming Club World Cup.
Alexander-Arnold, who had already announced his intention to leave Liverpool this summer, has reportedly agreed to a six-year contract with the Spanish giants.

The 26-year-old could have left Anfield on a free transfer when his contract ended on June 30th. However, FIFA's newly implemented transfer window (June 1st-10th) specifically for the expanded Club World Cup facilitated this earlier move.
The tournament, held in the United States, begins on June 14th, with Real Madrid's first group stage match against Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal on June 18th in Miami.
Alexander-Arnold, a Liverpool native, joined his boyhood club at the age of six. During his time at Anfield, he amassed an impressive trophy collection, including two Premier League titles, a Champions League title, a FIFA Club World Cup, a UEFA Super Cup, an FA Cup, and a League Cup.

In Madrid, Alexander-Arnold will reunite with England teammate Jude Bellingham and former Liverpool and Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso.
Alonso, 43, recently replaced Carlo Ancelotti as Real Madrid's manager after the club's first trophyless season since 2020-21.
