Kevin De Bruyne missing from squad to face Leipzig
Manchester City have released their 22-man squad travelling to face Leipzig tomorrow, and Kevin De Bruyne was a conspicuous omission.
The Premier League champions and last season's semi-finalists face off against Leipzig in the round of 16 of the Champions League, but they will lineup without their Belgian talisman, De Bruyne, as they continue their quest for their first UCL title.
KDB omitted
This afternoon, Manchester City released a 22-man squad list for their match against RB Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena on Wednesday night.
Many of the usual suspects were included in the squad list, with Erling Haaland, Riyad Mahrez, Kyle Walker, Rodri, Bernardo Silva, Jack Grealish, Ruben Dias and Phil Foden all present.
Kevin De Bruyne, who looked fine before being substituted in the 88th minute of the 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest, was not on the list.
The reasons for the Belgian's absence are yet to be revealed, and his shocking omission is one of two, as Spanish centre-back Aymeric Laporte, who also featured in the game against Steve Cooper’s men, is unnamed as well.
John Stones, on the other hand, continues to be out of action after picking up an injury in the FA Cup encounter against Arsenal last month.
20-year-old January signing Maximo Perrone makes the matchday squad for the first time since his acquisition; 19-year-olds Shea Charles and Alexander Robertson were also called up.
