Sancho is training on his own and away from the first team after a fallout with his United manager, Ten Hag.

The 23-year-old claimed that he had been made a “scapegoat” following his omission from the United trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal before the international break.

Sancho’s crime

Speaking after the Red Devils suffered a thrashing from the Gunners two weeks ago, Ten Hag said that Sancho was excluded from the squad because he was not training well.

The talented winger took to social media to debunk Ten Hag’s statement on his performance in training, in a post that lasted three days on X.com before he deleted it.

Ten Hag’s comments led to a statement from the former Borussia Dortmund youngster, leading to his banishment from the first team.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference for Saturday’s clash against Brighton and Hove Albion, the Dutchman was asked about the playmaker.

Asked if Sancho would play for the Red Devils again, Ten Hag responded, “I don’t know,” per a BBC Sports report.

The former Ajax manager added that the Red Devils are focused on the game against the Seagulls and Sancho is not important as he is not available.

“Tomorrow (today), we have a big game, we are going into a new block of games, many games in a condensed programme,” he added. “I focus on that.”

“He is not available, so, in this moment, he is not important because he can’t contribute.”

Ten Hag’s Manchester United will be looking to return to winning ways after what has been a difficult two weeks.

The Reds’ defeat to Arsenal has been overshadowed by the events around Sancho and the Dutchman will be looking for a good outing against their visitors to ease off tension at the club.

“I don’t think about that (Sancho’s post) and i don’t talk about that because i have to win a game. It is all about that,” Ten Hag added.

“The players who are there and available deserve me, I have to guide them, prepare them, it is about that. I only focus on the players who are available.”
