He's not stopped gambling - Calls for Ivan Toney ban rise after 'cheating' gesture against Forest
Brentford striker Ivan Toney is facing fresh accusations of cheating and calls for another ban following a successful return to active football against Nottingham Forest.
Toney has been accused of cheating by fans after he was recorded altering the position of the ball before scoring in their 3-2 win against Forest in the Premier League on Saturday night.
Toney in fresh trouble
The 27-year-old made his keenly anticipated return for the Bees after he was slapped with an eight-month suspension for breaching FA betting rules.
He celebrated by scoring the opening goal in the five-goal thriller as Brentford held Nottingham’s incredible fightback to seal the win.
However, fans quickly called out the England international on social media following a video which showed the Brentford man moving the ball and free kick line forward before netting the excellent free kick goal to put the Bees 1-0 up.
The fans have called for Toney to be banned again, with some claiming that he has not moved on from gambling after serving such a long ban.

“He’s obviously not stopped gambling just found a new way to not get caught,” one of the fans said on the social media platform, X.com.
“He should be suspended again,” another said.
“What else do you expect from a gambler?” a third fan quizzed further.
Some fans also defended the Brentford player as they believed he was only being smart on the pitch like most players do during set pieces.
“like no other footballer moves the ball slightly forward or in a position in the history of the game ? grow up man,” a fan defended Toney.
“Messi did this every time for the mls too lol. It’s. Nothing new. Players do this,” another concluded.
Toney’s goal started the show while Neal Maupay netted the decisive winner after Forest came back twice to level the score at 2-2.
With the win, Brentford ended a run of eight matches without defeat, moving six points clear of the danger zone.
