I want them to win the league — Sir Alex Ferguson reveals title wish

Sir Alex Ferguson has expressed his desire for Bayer Leverkusen to win the German league title this season instead of Bayern Munich.

With Bayer Leverkusen currently holding a 10-point lead over Bayern in second place, the Bundesliga could potentially witness a surprise champion in May.

Ferguson is particularly keen on seeing Xabi Alonso's team clinch the title ahead of the reigning German champions.

He told the Eintracht Frankfurt website: “I always hope to see the underdog win.

“Bayern fans may not agree with that, but like all the neutral fans in Germany, I really hope to see someone else win the league again.”

Bayern are 10 points behind Leverkusen in the Bundesliga title race.
