Harambee Stars Player Ratings vs Estonia: Nightmare for Richard Odada as Kenya Pay the Penalty
Harambee Stars paid the penalty for their missed chances when they had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Estonia before losing 5-4 on post-match penalties in the FIFA Series on Friday.
Tanel Tammik headed in after 20 minutes for Estonia before Ryan Ogam equalised in the 51st minute but Kenya would waste a number of chances before losing the shootouts which means they will play the third-place playoff between either Grenada or Rwanda on Tuesday.

Ian Otieno 5/10
The goalkeeper was not really tested although he had a couple of easy saves to make. He could not do much for the goal as his defence let him down. He made one save in the shootout to give his side a chance before they wasted it.
Ronney Onyango 5.5/10
The right-back struggled initially to deal with Michael Schjonning-Larsen but improved in the second half to keep his opponents at bay but did not set the stage alight.
Abud Omar 6.5/10
Had a decent game and was the one of two full-backs who made forward runs to support the attack. He also handled his winger well.
Frank Odhiambo 6/10
The Gor Mahia defender gave a good account of himself but nearly gave away an early penalty when his challenge on Michael Schjonning-Larsen in the box went unpunished.
Alphonce Omija 6/10
A decent but not solid performance from the defender who had some heart in mouth moments while some of his decision making was not good. Failed to deal with Tanel Tammik before he headed in.
Manzur Okwaro 7/10
The youngster was impressive again in central midfield and is the one who tried to get Kenya going with runs from deep. His ball-carrying was impressive as he sought to find teammates in advanced positions.
Richard Odada 4.5/10
Did not have a good night during the game and in the penalty shootout. The only Harambee Stars player booked after a reckless challenge early on while he was sloppy with the ball. Lost a number of key midfield battles while he missed his final chance at redemption when he attempted a panenka and failed in sudden death during the shootouts.
Zech Obiero 7.5/10
Finally made his Harambee Stars debut and it was a memorable one as he created Ogam’s goal with a brilliant defence-splitting pass. Created a couple of opportunities for teammates and had another great attempt that sailed over the bar before he went off after 64 minutes.
Job Ochieng 6/10
Was having a decent game before he was forced off with an injury after 41 minutes. Should have scored early after breaking free and firing at the keeper just before he went down injured.
William Lenkupae 5/10
Did not impress on the day as he has done before. There were no incisive runs in dangerous areas for him on the day and also failed to get his head on a good cross in the box from Ochieng.
Ryan Ogam 8/10
The striker scored Kenya’s only goal and it was a good one as he took it first time after being played in by Obiero. He should have had two more, first firing strongly at the goalkeeper, before another low shot saw the Estonia shot-stopper keep it out with his outstretched leg.
Ben Stanley Omondi 6/10
Introduced early in the 41st minute for the injured Job Ochieng but did not get in dangerous areas or create as much as the man he replaced. He nearly got a great assist when he squared a good ball to Lawrence Okoth late in the game but the young striker missed. He was, however, brave to step up in the shootouts and score.
Austin Odhiambo 5/10
He came on for Obiero but did not have the same impact although he stepped up in the shootouts and scored.
Chris Erambo 5.5/10
Came on late in the second half and marshalled the midfield in the final minutes with his physical presence keeping Estonia at bay. He also took a penalty in the shootouts and scored.
Lawrence Ouma 5/10
Did not impress when he came on late and missed a glorious opportunity to score the winner seven minutes from time. He, however, scored in the shootouts.
Mohammed Bajaber 4/10
Introduced with about four minutes of the 90 to play, he had one chance in stoppage time when he needed to put his leg to direct the ball in the net but failed. He also missed his penalty in the shootouts as his rustiness after a long spell out with an injury came to the fore.
