Harambee Starlets: Big Names Retained as Beldine Odemba Unveils Final WAFCON 2026 Squad
Harambee Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba has announced the final 25-player squad set to represent Kenya at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The tournament is scheduled to take place in Morocco from March 17 to April 3, 2026.
The team's preparations will include a series of international friendlies and a training camp before the continental competition begins. The squad is scheduled to depart for Ivory Coast on February 28, 2026.
Pre-Tournament Friendlies in Ivory Coast
To fine-tune their strategy, the Starlets will play two friendly matches in Abidjan. Their first test will be against Benin on March 2 at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium, with the match kicking off at 8 PM EAT.
Two days later, on March 4, they will face the host nation, Ivory Coast, at the Alassane Ouattara Olympic Stadium in Ebimpé. This match is scheduled for a 10 PM EAT kick-off.
Final Preparations in France
Following their matches in West Africa, the team will travel to Miramas, France, for a residential training camp. This final phase of preparation, running until March 15, will focus on tactical refinement, recovery, and building team cohesion before they head to Morocco for the tournament.
Kenya's WAFCON 2026 Group Stage Schedule
Competing in Group A, Kenya will begin their WAFCON campaign against the host nation, Morocco, on March 17. The Harambee Starlets will then play Senegal on March 20 before their final group stage match against Algeria on March 23.
