Hansi Flick labelled the rumours as ‘garbage’ and reaffirmed his complete control over team decisions. Throughout the week, speculation mounted about a supposed act of indiscipline from Lamine Yamal.

Reports claimed the young talent arrived late for a team meeting ahead of the crucial match against PSG, prompting an alleged intervention from club president Joan Laporta to ensure the player started.

Speaking at a press conference before Barcelona's upcoming game against Girona, Flick firmly refuted the claims.

"The rumour about Lamine is garbage," the German manager stated as per Bein Sports, clearly frustrated. "I'd like to know where that comes from. It's nonsense."

"Neither Deco nor anyone else at the club has ever asked me to do anything. They fully trust my work. If anyone said that, they’re lying."

With this strong denial, Hansi Flick aimed to quash the controversy, insisting it was baseless. He also clarified the nature of his relationship with the club's board, emphasising his autonomy. "I have nothing to hide," he said. "At this club, the coaching staff makes the sporting decisions."

Lamine Yamal's Status and Locker Room Harmony

Lamine Yamal recently returned from the international break with minor physical issues, leading to a period of rest.

He subsequently played 30 minutes against Real Sociedad and featured for the entire match against PSG, with no evidence of the disciplinary action mentioned in the reports.

Flick also commented on another viral story concerning the player's use of a helicopter during his time off.

"What matters to me is that he works hard and maintains a good attitude," the coach explained. "After his injury, he trained very well and had two days off. That’s his private life, and I won’t interfere."
