Record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia have revealed the ticketing details for the highly anticipated Mashemeji Derby against arch-rivals AFC Leopards. 

After a week of uncertainty regarding the venue and date, the stage is finally set for Kenyan football’s biggest clash which serves as the absolute highlight of the SportPesa League calendar, which will now take place next Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Nyayo National Stadium.

The derby  had initially been slated for the current weekend at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani. However, the plans were disrupted by Nairobi United’s CAF Confederation Cup commitments against AS Maniema Union. Under CAF priority regulations, continental fixtures take precedence, forcing the derby out of its original home.

 Attempts to quickly move the match to Nyayo Stadium initially collapsed as the facility was booked for preparations for the World Aids Day Half Marathon.1

Following a formal request by Gor Mahia to the FKF to postpone the match due to the unavailability of a suitable pitch, a resolution was finally reached. The Mashemeji Derby will officially go down on December 7 with kickoff scheduled for 4pm

 The postponement might be a blessing in disguise for K’Ogalo, who are still reeling from a shocking 4-1 capitulation to bottom-table side APS Bomet on Tuesday. That heavy defeat stunned the Green Army and dented their early-season momentum. 

Meanwhile, AFC Leopards (Ingwe) are fighting to stabilize their season; they currently sit fourth on the log with 14 points, five behind table-toppers Gor Mahia.

Tensions will be undoubtedly high as both sides look to claim bragging rights and crucial points. The last time these two giants met was on Madaraka Day at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay, where they settled for a hard-fought 1-1 draw.
