Ex-Manchester United manager Solskjaer close to shocking return to Premier League
The Norwegian has been without a job since he was sacked at Manchester United in November 2021.
However, he has shown interest in returning to the Premier League, with Leicester looking to appoint him following the departure of Maresca to Chelsea.
The Championship winners and new Premier League promoters are currently in talks with the Norwegian for the managerial position.
Solskjaer close to Leicester move
According to the Sun, the Foxes have been in contact with the former Manchester United manager as they compile a shortlist of potential replacements for Enzo Maresca.
After United fired Solskjaer in November 2021, he declined multiple managerial offers, both at the club and international levels.
The chairman of Leicester City, Top Srivaddhanaprabha, holds great regard for the Manchester United legend.
Solskjaer was also in the running for the head coach position in Canada before Jesse Marsch was appointed last month.
However, after losing out to former Rangers manager Giovanni Van Bronckhorst for the Besiktas position earlier this week, the 51-year-old is now desperate to get back into club management.
Leicester have now switched their focus to Solskjaer, who is eager to try managing in the Premier League once more.
