European Super League faces further setback as FIGC bans Italian club participation

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has recently taken a significant step to deter its clubs from participating in the controversial European Super League (ESL).

According to Fabrizio Romano, the FIGC has approved a clause that effectively closes the door for its affiliated clubs to join the European Super League. This clause is a clear response to the European Court of Justice's (ECJ) ruling against UEFA and FIFA's sanctions on breakaway leagues like the ESL, which were declared unlawful. Despite this ruling, the FIGC has chosen to take a firm stand against the involvement of its clubs in such leagues.
