After the Manchester Road Race last season, Dorcus Ewoi revealed that she took a break before resuming training.

“It felt good. Really encouraged. A bit more relaxed. The tension is gone for the indoors. Your what is gone? My tension is gone for indoors now. Because I didn't really know where I am in the training,” Dorcus Ewoi told Letsrun.com.

“There's nothing we can do in between. No indoor races are coming. This is the big indoor race. No. I took almost a month off to relax and make sure I'm fine to go back to training.”

Dorcus Ewoi added that since winning the silver medal in the 1500m at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan, she has gained more confidence.

Ewoi pointed out that she is not under any pressure to make a mark but believes in her abilities to win more medals at the upcoming championships.

“I have so much confidence and courage. I'm just happy training, knowing that this is my job. And I got the medal, and I know I can push more, and I can get more out of that. But I don't really have any expectation or anything,” he added.

The 29-year-old explained that she only plans to compete in two indoor races, excluding the World Indoor Championships.

Her main event of the season will be the World Athletics Ultimate Championships in Budapest, Hungary, and she hopes to make the cut.

“No, I only have two races planned for indoors. Millrose is coming next weekend. Then I have one more. That's my main goal,” she added.

“But they have trials coming up at the end of this month. I'm not sure, but if they have trials, I don't really know.”
