Declan Rice: West Ham star opens up on Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck following release of song named after him
West Ham midfielder Declan Rice is can’t stop raving about the 2023 viral Afrobeat song named after him.
The 24-year-old Three Lions star recently acknowledged a song named after him by one of the hottest emerging rappers in Nigeria - Odumodublvck.
Odumodublvck recently released his single dubbed ‘Declan Rice’, in March, after months of anticipation.
Pulse Sports previously reported that Declan Rice himself had since acknowledged the talented Nigerian rapper who has been disturbing the Nigerian music charts with his latest single, which became the fastest song to reach no.1 on the Nigerian music charts.

Declan Rice’ is a rap song by Nigerian songwriter, rapper and singer Odumodublvck, that alludes to the West Ham United and England midfielder.
The first snippet of the song was posted in January on his Instagram without any information on its release.
The snippet which went viral, left fans speculating about a sooner release.
A day before the song’s release Declan Rice also opened the scoring for England in their 2-1 win in the Euro 2024 qualifier against Italy on Thursday, March 23, in Naples.
Speaking recently in an interview with BBC Match of The Day, the West Ham midfielder opened up on his relationship with Odumodublvck and revealed his love for the song which is named after the player himself.
“That’s my guy men”, Declan Rice said.
“It dropped and I was just like..yeah, mad. I think it was the fastest-streaming song in Nigerian history…Number 1. It’s had now like 15 million streams.
“We’ve seen all these people singing my name. I’m getting all of these Nigerian people commenting, and I’m commenting back…That’s what it’s about.
“I’ve got a couple of boys that are like, we listen to it in the car and we just keep rewinding it”.

Declan Rice continues to be linked with a move away from the London Stadium, with a number of Elite clubs reportedly eyeing his signature.
Reports suggest that Rice could be heading to Arsenal in a mega-money move this summer with the 24-year-old having impressed for the Hammers once again this season.
Declan Rice returns to action on Wednesday night in the Premier League as 15th-placed West Ham travel to the Etihad to play defending champions and title contenders Manchester City.
A win for Man City will see them return to the Top of the Premier League summit amid this season’s title race after Arsenal brushed aside Chelsea in the London derby 3-1 24 hours earlier.
