Roy Hodgson, Crystal Palace manager fielded the same starting eleven that drew at Fulham while Nottingham Forest manager made three changes to his side that defeated Arsenal last weekend.

Both teams started the game brightly but ruined their chances in the first 15 minutes of the game. However, it was Nottingham Forest who shocked the home side when Morgan Gibbs-White played a pass to the feet of Taiwo Awoniyi and he shot low into the back of the net from inside the box.

It was a great joy for the Nigerian striker Awoniyi who has now scored six goals in his last four games in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace tried to get an equaliser before the break but could not get past Forest's defence line.

The second half started and Crystal Palace came out with full force. Their pressure paid off in the 67th minute when Michael Olise showcased his brilliant technique and produced a beautifully lofted cross into the box. Will Hughes planted a good header to the left side of the goal post making it 1-1.

The game went gradually but both sides were unable to get the winning goal as the referee blew the final whistle.
