Barcelona have spent the last few weeks thinking of a way to get around FFP restrictions as they seek to bring Lionel Messi back to Camp Nou.

The 35-year-old is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer after turning down the chance to sign a new deal with the club.

Messi to Barcelona via MLS?

According to L'Equipe, Barca are considering a plan which would see Beckham-owned Inter Miami sign the star before loaning him to Spain.

The move would then see Messi spend either 6 or 18 months in Barcelona to remain at a high level ahead of the Copa America in 2024, before moving to the MLS.

Speaking to Spanish outlet Sport, Xavi said:

 "No doubt Messi can still help us a lot. I have made it clear to the president. He still has many years ahead of him"

Barcelona will continue to try and explore as many options as possible as they seek a way back for Messi but they must be cautious as the offer from the Saudi Pro League remains on the table.
