Alan Shearer blasts Arsenal goalkeeper after Luton Town performance

Former Newcastle United star Alan Shearer expressed his dissatisfaction with Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya’s performance during their recent match against Luton Town.

The Spanish goalkeeper, currently on loan from Brentford, has been a talking point due to his potential permanent move to Arsenal. 

However, his performance against Luton Town, where he was accountable for two of the three goals conceded, has raised concerns among fans and pundits alike.

Shearer, a Premier League legend, criticized Raya’s inability to effectively handle crosses, highlighting a broader issue with the emphasis on goalkeepers being skilled with their feet at the expense of basic goalkeeping skills. 

He commented on this trend via London World, stating, “Raya never looks comfortable from the cross. It’s a huge error from the goalkeeper.”

Despite the setback, the league leaders are preparing for their next challenge against Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, aiming to maintain their lead in the Premier League.
