The former Tusker FC captain revealed he is already shaping a plan for life after football after graduating from Brighton University.
FC Lancing defender Eugene Asike has already decided what he wants to do once he retires from professional football after graduating from Brighton University in May 2025 with a qualification in Strength and Conditioning (S&C).
After finishing his season at Tusker FC in the 2023/24 season, Eugene Asike spent some time working in strength and conditioning and sports performance through his own company.
He narrated that during that period, his dedication in that field caught the attention of professionals in the UK, who later approached him with an opportunity to continue developing his expertise at Brighton.

Harambee Stars Midfielder Reacts After Helping Yanga Reach CAF Champions League Group Stage
The Harambee Stars midfielder played a key role as Yanga SC overturned a first-leg deficit to reach the CAF Champions League group stage.
“After I ended my season at Tusker, all along, I have been strength and conditioning, sports performance with my company, for four to five years,” Eugene Asike explained on the Tiki Taka Show.
“I had been doing a series of things, and some people from the UK noticed my passion, fitness, strength and conditioning. They asked if I minded being given an offer at Brighton, and they wanted me to develop more.”
Eugene Asike: I Want to Give Back to Society
The Harambee Stars defender has since expressed interest in giving back to society, something he is already doing, however, not in full-time.
Eugene Asike shared that he is still actively playing but already thinking ahead to life after football, noting that giving back to the community is a priority he holds dearly.
The former Tusker FC captain mentioned that he previously worked alongside Lawrence Okoth, who has since moved abroad, signing with Finnish top-flight side SJK Seinäjoki.

Eugene Asike added that once he acquires all the necessary qualifications, he feels a strong responsibility to return home and support local players in their development.
“Right now, I’m still there, playing. Once I decide that I’m done playing football, that is one thing I want to do,” he added.
“Especially giving back to the community…it is very important. I was working with Lawrence Okoth, who has now made a move abroad. Once I complete everything, I must come back and support the players.”
