The numbers highlight Ruben Amorim's failure to spark improvement at Manchester United, fueling doubts about his suitability.

The Sun tabloid has compiled a Premier League table based on matches played since Ruben Amorim took over Manchester United from Erik ten Hag.

With one win, one draw, and two losses, including Sunday's 0-3 derby defeat to Manchester City, Manchester United currently sits 14th in the Premier League, one spot higher than their 2024-2025 season finish.

In other words, manager Ruben Amorim has not managed to improve anything over the summer. The Portuguese coach has been under scrutiny from English journalists for some time, with many becoming increasingly convinced he is not the right man to pull the team out of its long-standing crisis.

This statistic is backed up with concrete figures from The Sun. Journalists from the UK's most-read newspaper have created a Premier League table showing points accumulated by all 17 teams present in both the current and 2024-2025 seasons, across 31 matchdays since Ruben Amorim's appointment at United on November 24, 2024.

Manchester United is Dead Last in the Premier League Table Since Ruben Amorim's Arrival!

The result? Manchester United is in last place, with just 31 points, an average of one per game, a goal difference of minus 13, and only eight wins.

Tottenham, Radu Drăgușin's team, also has 31 points but a better goal difference, minus four. Unlike the 'Red Devils,' the Spurs have seen a resurgence in 2025-2026, accumulating nine points in four matches and climbing to third in the table.

Above them are teams with modest ambitions, who year after year are more concerned with avoiding relegation than competing for trophies or European spots: Fulham (13th), Wolverhampton (14th), and West Ham (15th).

Ruben Amorim: "I'm Not Going to Change."

Last season's champions, Liverpool, lead the pack with 68 points, followed by Arsenal with 64 points, and Chelsea with 58 points. The only difference from the final 2024-2025 standings is Chelsea's rise to 3rd, ahead of Manchester City (54 points).

Faced with a string of nightmare results and deficiencies on all fronts, Ruben Amorim refuses to alter his philosophy: "This is not a record we should have at Manchester United. I accept that, but I'm not going to change. I've played my way, and I will play my way until I want to change."
