Manchester United have reportedly decided to sack manager Erik ten Hag even if the Red Devils beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

Manchester United have reportedly made the decision to part ways with manager Erik ten Hag, regardless of the outcome of the upcoming FA Cup final against Manchester City.

Ten Hag, who has faced a challenging second season at Old Trafford, led the team to an eighth-place finish in the Premier League, the lowest in over three decades for the club.

Despite their FA Cup final appearance, where they enter as underdogs against city rivals Manchester City, Ten Hag's future at the club appears bleak.

According to reports from The Guardian, United's co-owners, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS, have decided to remove Ten Hag from his position, even if United manages to secure victory against the odds.

The decision reflects a significant move by Ratcliffe and INEOS since acquiring a 27.7 per cent stake from the Glazer family, solidifying their control over football operations.

A list of potential replacements for Ten Hag has already been compiled, including names like Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino, Kieran McKenna, Thomas Frank, and Graham Potter.

Despite a promising first season that saw United finish third in the Premier League and claim the Carabao Cup under Ten Hag's leadership, the team's performance has regressed. They exited the Champions League early and suffered a disappointing run in the Carabao Cup, highlighting the decline in their form.

United's only chance of securing European football for next season lies in winning the FA Cup, which would earn them a spot in the UEFA Europa League. However, their overall performance this season, including a string of losses in the Premier League and struggles in cup competitions, has led to dissatisfaction among the club's hierarchy.

As the FA Cup final approaches, the future of Manchester United's managerial position remains uncertain, with Ten Hag's tenure seemingly coming to an end regardless of the outcome on the pitch.
