Reports claimed that Messi had an affair with Argentine journalist Sofia Martinez but Cesc Fabregas' wife Daniella Semaan has insisted that those are false allegations.

Cesc Fabregas' wife Daniella Semaan has denied a report in Brazil that alleged Lionel Messi has cheated on Antonela Roccuzzo.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Brazilian outlet Direto Do Miolo posted to X on Friday that Messi and Roccuzzo's 15-year relationship was facing its 'biggest crisis'.

It was reported that the Argentine football star had an affair with Argentine journalist Sofia Martinez and their marriage was on the verge of being over.

Furthermore, Semaan, a very close friend to the couple has come out to say that the allegations are false.

Replying to a post on Instagram, she said: “What publication is this that has no meaning... and has nothing right.”

Messi and Roccuzzo got married in 2017 and have three sons, Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro. The reports about Messi’s cheating emerged last month, claiming that Messi is 'in love with a woman who is not Antonela'.

Some fans jumped to conclusions on whether the woman in question was Martinez, because of an apparent 'look' he gave her at the Ballon d'Or ceremony.

The journalist also made headlines during last year's World Cup in Qatar and after their semi-final victory over Croatia, Martinez made a passionate speech as she interviewed Messi.

“The last thing I want to tell you, and this is not a question, but I just wanted to say; the World Cup final is coming and sure, we all [Argentinians] want to win the Cup.

I just want to tell you that no matter the results, there's something that no one can take from you and that is the fact you resonated with Argentinians, every single one. I'm being serious.

There's no kid who doesn't have your team shirt. No matter if it is a fake, real, or made-up one. Truly, you made your mark in everyone's life and that to me is beyond winning any World Cup.

No one can take that from you and this is my gratitude for such amount of happiness you bring to a lot of people.

I seriously hope you take these words into your heart because I really believe that's more important than winning a World Cup and you already have it, so thank you, captain,” she said live on air.
