Macedonian club likely to sign Rwandan striker Arthur Gitego outbidding AFC Leopards with a superior offer.

Rwanda international Arthur Gitego is on the brink of a significant career leap with Macedonian football heavyweights FC Shkupi reportedly closing in on a deal that could snatch him away from AFC Leopards.

Despite spending the last two weeks training with the twelve-time FKF Premier League champions and undergoing medical assessments, Gitego's future seems to be veering towards a different trajectory.

The 20-year-old striker, who has been pivotal for Marine FC with a series of impressive goals this season, arrived in Kenya with high hopes of donning the AFC Leopards jersey.

However, the allure of European football and a significantly heftier offer from FC Shkupi appear to have turned the tide.

Pulse Sports understands that the Macedonian club's offer trumps that of AFC Leopards by a staggering threefold, casting shadows over the Ingwe's aspirations to secure the young forward's services.

Gitego's journey, marked by resilience and sheer talent, has seen him rise from the grassroots of Rwandan football.

His early days at the Centre de Formation in Gatenga, Kicukiro District, laid the foundation for a career characterized by determination and growth.

Despite facing challenges and experiencing brief stints with various clubs, including a short-lived tenure at Rayon Sports and a struggle for playing time at Kiyovu, Gitego's prowess remained undimmed.

A move to second-tier side Gicumbi FC, followed by a return to Kiyovu, did little to stall his progress. The real turning point came when he joined Marines FC, a decision that has proven to be a masterstroke.

Gitego's ability to consistently deliver top-notch performances has not only made him a standout figure at the club level but also on the national stage, cementing his status as one of the most promising talents in Rwandan football.
