LeBron James celebrates as Bronny becomes the first person in the family to go to college.

Bronny James has finally decided on a college after months of rumors and closed-door recruitment.

LeBron James' oldest child is staying close to home in Los Angeles, which is a significant coup for the USC Trojans.

James announced his choice to choose the Trojans over Oregon and Ohio State on Instagram on Saturday.

After graduating from high school, LeBron James entered the NBA as a rookie and quickly established himself as one of the greatest players in history.

He eventually became the NBA's all-time top scorer in his 20th season.

After committing to play for USC, his son Bronny is now choosing a different path to the pros, shocking everyone in the college basketball world.

LeBron was overjoyed to see his son creating his own legacy.

James expressed his appreciation for Bronny's commitment in an Instagram post. He said, "So damn proud of you kid. I have no words besides I LOVE YOU."

In an interview with Spectrum Sports Net on Saturday night following the Lakers' victory over the Golden State Warriors in Game 3 of the playoffs, James also took a moment to thank Bronny.

James said, "It's a proud moment to see my son go to college.

"He's the first one to go to college in my family... I'll take this cherry on top with this dub."

LeBron has always stated his desire to play with his son in the NBA, even if they are not on the same team.

LeBron, who is currently 38 years old and in the last stretch of his 20th season in the league, will need to play at least two more seasons if he hopes to realize his dream of playing alongside Bronny.
