Fourth Consecutive Victory for Wanyonyi

Emmanuel Wanyonyi has sealed his place at the Diamond League final in Zurich.

This London triumph marked Wanyonyi’s fourth consecutive victory on the Diamond League circuit following impressive wins in Oslo, Stockholm, and Monaco.

The Kenyan has now firmly established himself as the man to beat in the 800m this season, combining tactical brilliance with explosive finishing speed.

Wanyonyi’s 1:42.00 was a strong statement of intent, placing him among the fastest men in history over the distance, but the final climb to David Rudisha’s mark of 1:40.91  will require an even more extraordinary performance.

While his victory in London was emphatic, Wanyonyi it is still far behind in surpassing Rudisha’s legendary time.

With the World Championships fast approaching, Wanyonyi is peaking at just the right time.

If his current form holds, not only will he be the favorite for world gold, but he could also inch closer to rewriting the record books and etching his name alongside Kenya’s greatest ever.
