Wirtz snubs Boniface, Tella, names the best footballer he has played alongside

Liverpool midfielder Florian Wirtz has named the best player he's ever shared the pitch with for both club and country.

The midfielder recently completed his move to Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen, becoming the most expensive player in the Premier League.

The German international was signed for a fee worth £100 million, which could rise to a British record of £116 million with add-ons.

Wirtz said in a video on Liverpool's official channel, via Sportal, "The best I've played with? Toni Kroos." The 22-year-old German international has played alongside Kroos for the national team.

The midfielder picked his countryman over Super Eagles star Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella, who he played with at Bayer Leverkusen.

Wirtz has taken the iconic number 7 shirt at Liverpool, which Luis Diaz vacated following his transfer to Bayern Munich.

The shirt has previously been worn by Liverpool legends such as Kenny Dalglish, Kevin Keegan, and Luis Suarez.
