VIDEO: Young Africans give Gift Fred superstar unveiling

Tanzania champions Young Africans have finally unveiled former SC Villa captain Gift Fred.

In a 36-second clip shared on Twitter, Young Africans showcase Fred as a star that everyone hopes he will turn out. 

The video opens with hands moving chess pieces across the board as dramatic music plays in the background.

As the intensity of the sound builds up, Gift is shown from various angles, dressing in Young Africans' jersey against a dark background before the spotlight finally illuminates, giving him the spotlight.

Gift came close to leading SC Villa to a first StarTimes Uganda Premier League title in 19 years, falling short on the final matchday as they lost to URA FC 1-0 on home turf.

Gift's career was first tracked at Booma FC in Masindi before joining SC Villa in 2020 on a three-year contract. 

While at SC Villa, Gift soon caught the eye of the national team selectors and has since featured for the Cranes in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
