Substitute Luis Diaz came in to score Liverpool's equaliser with a header in injury time from a cross which was sent into the box.

The Colombian recently returned to training with his teammates despite his father being in the hands of kidnappers.

Diaz's family celebration

In celebration of his goal, Diaz flashed a shirt underneath that read "Freedom For My Dad" in reference to his father's abduction.

Diaz was sending a heartfelt message in remembrance of his father, who had been abducted and it seems that his Colombian family was just as moved by his Liverpool goal.

A short video of the player's grandparents' house shows a throng of people inside rejoicing after Diaz scored the goal with his head to bring Liverpool back to par.

Some were gathered around a television and they could be seen screaming and pumping air with their fists as a member rushed to shut the open window as reported by Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, the leader of the rebel group that took the football player's parents hostage earlier acknowledged that they had made a "mistake" in not releasing his father, Luis Manuel Diaz.

Peace negotiations with the ELN are still ongoing and military personnel are currently seeking to release Diaz's father.
