Osimhen wins Serie A award

Osimhen has scored 25 goals and counting in Serie A this season, the most by an African player in a single Italian top-flight campaign, and his superb season has been rewarded with the first of hopefully many post-season awards that his brilliance has deserved.

The 24-year-old-forward helped Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years, and scored the goal that eventually sealed the title for the Partenopei against Udinese.

The Nigerian forward is having the best season of his career in Europe so far, with his 30-goal haul this season, 10 more than his previous best season when he scored 20 times for Charleroi in Belgium.

Osimhen beats star forwards to award

Osimhen beat other special Serie A forwards like Inter’s Lautaro Martinez and AC Milan’s Rafael Leao to the award after impressing for the Partenopei in the 2022/23 campaign.

Osimhen leads the scorer’s chart in Serie A and is a shoo-in for the Golden Boot after moving four goals clear of the second-highest goalscorer this season, Lautaro Martinez.

Osimhen’s performances have made him a target for a number of top clubs including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich, and could be set to leave Napoli following the impending exit of manager Luciano Spalletti.
