University Football League set to kick off in August

The 2023 edition of the Pepsi University Football League will kick off in August, according to Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) President Peninah Kabenge.

The annual tournament was initially scheduled to begin on March 7th, 2023; however, several delays hindered the start.

"This year's edition should be able to kickstart as soon as students return from their holidays, somewhere in mid to late August," Kabenge told Pulse Sports.

"We did not want to start the tournament before we could secure another entity to help us promote the brand and co-sponsor with Pepsi," she added.
Twenty-four teams will participate in this year's tournament, making it the most oversized edition ever; 21 teams took part in the 2022 edition
