Ugandan striker's Swedish giants storm Europa League playoff

Swedish champions BK Hacken defeated Lithuanian side Zalgiris FK 5-0 in the Europa League qualifiers second leg at the Bravida Stadium in Gothenburg Thursday night.

The club features Ugandan striker John Paul Dembe, a KCCA FC forward on loan.

An unused substitute in the clash, 18-year-old Dembe watched his team set a date with Scottish giants Aberdeen FC in the playoffs. The eventual winner will earn qualification to the Europa League group stages featuring a host of elite European clubs.

The Swedish giants won the reverse fixture 3-1 and mastered a 5-0 victory on home soil.

Dembe has been part of the senior team, having earned promotion from the U19 squad where he netted three goals in his last two appearances.

He was part of Uganda Hippos team at the U20 AFCON tournament held in Egypt this year. He is a product of KCCA's youth structures.
