In recent days, French side Lille have become strong contenders to sign the Nigerian striker, with the club already successful in bringing players from Gent, having signed star man Jonathan David from the Belgian side.

Orban is aware of the path from Gent to Lille but is focused on writing his own story.

He said, “That ex-players have already gone from Gent to Lille? That’s what they tell me, yes, but I don’t look at other players. I just do my job.”

Orban has started the new season in style, scoring for Gent in an impressive 5-1 win over MSK Zilina in the first leg of their Europa Conference League qualifiers.
