PSG to play UEFA Super Cup after just one week of training
PSG's 2024/2025 season concluded on Sunday, with the players heading off for their summer break. Manager Luis Enrique granted three weeks of vacation to Nuno Mendes, João Neves, Vitinha, Gonçalo Ramos, and the rest of the squad.
They are scheduled to return for medical examinations on August 4th, with the first training session taking place the following day.
Their first competitive match? The UEFA Super Cup against Tottenham, winners of the UEFA Europa League, on August 13th in Udine.
Ligue 1 action kicks off the following weekend, with PSG's opening fixture slated for August 17th in Nantes.
This means PSG will begin the 2025/2026 season with just one week of training. Shortening the players' vacation wasn't considered, partly due to the collective bargaining agreement in France which mandates 18 consecutive days of vacation. With one day off required every seven days, this effectively translates into three weeks.
FIFA also recently announced the mandatory implementation of a three-week holiday period for professional football players.
